Giorgio Armani’s new skin care product Crema Nera was inspired by his summer holidays on the volcanic island of Pantelleria which is located between Sicily and Africa. The mineral rich skin cream was inspired by Pantelleria’s formations of obsidian. The glossy black stone, which has been used by many cultures to make arrowheads and knives, also contributes minerals to the soil which makes it more fertile. Crema Nera is enriched with the same minerals found in the obsidian and is said to stimulate cell metabolism to function at peak energy levels for optimal cell regeneration, resulting in plumper and firmer skin. The cream is designed to be suitable for all ages and skin types. The cream sells for $225.

When it seems that the ingredients for pricey skin creams can’t get anymore expensive, there is only one thing to do, fancy up the outside. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of La Prairie, they are packaging their Skin Caviar Luxe Cream in special Swarovski-encrusted jars. There are 645 50 ml jars available for an astronomical $2,000 each (the plain version can generally be found for around $345). The jar will be available at cosmetic counters in November.

I can’t tell whether a mannequin has lost its foot or if this is one of the more outrageous designs by Christian Louboutin. As it is so fittingly named, the Striped Ankle Boot is unique, to say the least, though I can’t speak to its wearability. And not the wearability meaning relating to its durability after long periods of use, I mean the other kind of wearability - is a actual person able to wear them and not look crazy? I’m not too sure. Although not impossible, it’s difficult to imagine what outfit is able to carry this one of kind pair of boots. Heel measurement: 4 ½”. Price: $970.

Yes the Summer is escaping us and Fall is here - or at least on a part time basis - but that doesn’t mean we should say goodbye to our peep toe beauties. Incorporate them into your Fall wardrobe by wearing opaque tights. Or if the weather is manageable then skip the tights all together. Loeffler Randall’s Pumps are refreshingly sweet and charming with its ruffle detailing. At 2 1/2″ the suede covered heel is enough to provide height without adding stress to the balls of your feet. This could actually be a comfortable walking shoe if you are not able to change into flats during your lunch break. Wear casually with jeans or with a dress or skirt for dressier occasions - either way, it will add a splash of color and liven up any outfit. Seen here in an emerald suede, it is also available in black and taupe leather. Price: $375.

If you are loving the fun that designers are having with buttons on shoes, then set your eyes on the Adrienne Button Boot by Frye. The round toe tall boot encompasses comfort and style to create the ultimate boot for the season. The sole is made from polyurethane, which will not give you as much flexibility when walking compared to a rubber sole, however, it gives enough flexibility that they don’t feel stiff. The front buttons are purely for decoration, giving a military inspired look, while the side zipper and goring eliminate the work that goes with putting on slip-on tall boots. Shaft measures at 14 1/2″ with a 13″ circumference while the heel measures at 3 1/4″. Price: $398

There are some things that we don’t know we want unless we see it - and I want these glittery shoes by Christian Louboutin. I never knew that I would posses a liking nor have the desire to want shiny, glittery shoes but I do. And why not? Dorothy loved her glittery red shoes and they brought her good luck. I am sure that these will too. And yes, I realize that Dorothy is a fictional character from the Wizard of Oz, but just go with me on this one. Louboutin’s Glitter Slingbacks have a girlish appeal with sexiness written all of it. Wear with a more subdued outfit and these heels will become quite the elegant showstopper. Heel measurements: 4 1/2″. Price: $690.

Mid-Calf Boots can be tricky to wear, at least for me. It seems as though mid calf boots can’t decide between being a tall or a short boot. And that drives me crazy! I’m not a fan of the in-between. And what do I wear them with? Do I wear mid-calf boots with short or long skirts, shorts or mid-calf shorts? I just don’t know. But dare I say that Jonathan Kelsey has changed my mind? These super sleek and sexy boots are ultra feminine yet so fierce. Made of smooth and patent leather, it’s cone shaped heels, pointy toe and single silver button helps to exude a sense of classy feminine appeal. For Jonathan Kelsey’s Mid-Calf Platform Boots, I will wear anything. It features a side zipper to help put the boots on easier - slip on boots can be a pain in the butt sometimes. Heel measurements: 4 1/2″. Price: $870.

It’s as though a green snake ate a pair of platform pumps and we now have this. It’s not as though the Dior Pumps are ugly, but they certainly are exotic and unparalleled to anything that I have ever come across. It’s double knotted ties and ankle straps add a touch of girliness to an otherwise extravagant and slightly off the wall pair of platform pumps. The half twisted pieces of leather throughout is edgy and funky. What an awesome pair of platforms to upgrade any outfit. Heel measurements: 4 1/2″. Price: $1,390.

Is it just me or are oversized buttons/snaps being used on shoes more and more these days? They seem be the new “it” accessory for shoes. I’ve been seeing them in all my favorite stores and online shopping sites. And you can’t help but to appreciate and be drawn to its girlish appeal that has somehow morphed itself into a high fashion accent. Bruno Frisoni’s Patent Flats are a great example of this. They are simply designed, leaving the oversized metallic plaque and button/snap to take center stage. If you are looking for comfort and style these definitely beat flip flops and wearing sneakers to walk to work. Price: $595.
