While Ms PurseBlog Herself is trying to stay dry from Ernesto down in Florida, I would like to share something with you guys that certainly made my day. I never really thought that Jessica Simpson was particularly hot, her “smarts” surely didn’t help me find her more attractive. However, after seeing Jessica’s latest ad for her shoe and bag line, I must excuse myself while my blood starts boiling in excitement.

Megs loves her shoes, they fit her small toes perfectly. I haven’t seen much of Jessica’s bags yet, but I am sure they wouldn’t disappoint me if they are only half as good as their ad.

It’s a dog!? It’s a purse?! It’s both!

I think the createurs of this repulsively hideous *thing* give dog lovers too much credit. No way in a thousand years do I see a sane woman carry this thing (no offense to those who buy one and actually carry it). Yikes. For $34 via Bia Collection.

Now this reminds of an idea that my friend had a few weeks back - he suggested to provide a service for people to have their passed pets turned into handbags. Any VCs in for this one?

Yesterday was a day full of exploring the Village and SoHo. I am not going to lie; I spent a pretty penny and wished I had quite a few more to spend. The area is lined with store after store of designer goods. I checked out Chanel SoHo to only fall in love with the unpractical and pricey Chanel Luggage. What I did notice was for every posh woman there was a gorgeous bag. I carried my Chloe Paddington Tote proudly but started to drool at an exotic bag I saw. A beautifully tall and skinny blonde lady passed by me quickly carrying a Black Croc Birkin. No lies- it was STUNNING. But I haven’t won the lotto and I can’t afford a beauty like that anytime soon. So in order to appease my croc obsession, Nancy Gonzalez offers crock bags for a bite more affordable price. Again, Megs and I have been aiming our coverage on handbags in the upper price bracket… for mortals anyway. Sorry about that, we really need a boot in the rear sometimes to get us back on the rough grounds that we call reality. Not many people are willing to drop high-three or four-plus figures on a bag. Cute can be reasonable as well. While the Alexander McQueen Novak goes for almost $1,500, this Tommy Bahama Frame Coin Messenger goes for less than a 1/10 of that price. I know the bags are fundamentally different in quality and structure, there’s still something about the C.d.C. Messenger that reminds me of the Novak. It may be the rounded patches on the bag’s bottom that it has in common with the Novak. If you are looking for a small, cute top frame style cross body bag, you don’t have to look any further.
