‘Get Your Own Bag…’ Tote

After a not so relaxing weekend, my early Monday mood is doldrum to say the least. Let me tell you, stress sucks (I know, you are thinking ‘tell us something we didn’t know!’). Being stressed really just eats at your body. Don’t let it in, even when you have a ton on your shoulders. And to think, I am merely stressed from packing for a very long ‘vacation’. Life needs to slow down! So to start today, I have found two handbags to show the perfect mood I am in; one censored, one not. The Get Your Own Bag B#*@% Tote is cunning, clever, and a tad cynical which makes the perfect mix for some days. This canvas tote features a coy cartoon of a girl ready to duke it out over her handbag, and let me tell you, that is my kind of girl. She is spunky and has attitude. Don’t even begin to think I would be anyone other than the blond haired girl, being really nice to stop someone to say ‘Nice Bag’ and getting a tongue lashing. All those who know me, know, I am just that nice. Anyhow, this tote made my day and makes a statement. Check out other Angry Little Girls! handbags. Tote $24.99 via Algstore, censored version here and uncensored here.

Persons who still can not get into rated R movies do not need to go after the jump for the uncensored version!

Lana Marks Cleopartra Bag

When it comes to the race for the most expensive handbag in the world, the top two competitors can not just blindly rely on handmade craftsmanship, exotic materials and an established name. To achieve maximum hyper-inflation, Lana Marks bumps her Cleopatra clutch up in the ranks by adding 1,500 small black & white diamonds to an 18 carat gold clasp. That should definitely do for a 6-figure price tag, yet short of the most expensive bag in the world. Try harder Lana!

Gadino Bag by Hilde Palladino

Image via Forbes

On with the realm of the world’s most extravagant handbags comes a bag by a little known designer to the masses. Hilde Palladino, the Norwegian designer, created the Gadino Bag which is made with white crocodile and 39 diamonds which are placed on the clasps. Personally, I’d like my diamonds around my neck or on my ears. How about a trip around the world, a shopping spree, and traveling first class? Take that or the bag for $38,470.

Louis Vuitton - Eye See You

For those who will do some Louis Vuitton shopping during the upcoming holiday season, you are in for a pleasant treat! My favorite French fashion designer commissioned the renowned artist Olafur Eliasson to create Eye See You, an art project that will be shown throughout the Christmas holiday period 2006 in more than 350 Vuitton stores worldwide. All commission fees and money from the sale of a special edition of Eye See You go solely to 121Ethiopia.org.

I think I am going to have to take Megs to the 5th Ave flagship store to check out the display myself.

Dior Rebelle

Ladies, we need your help. More specifically, our moderator Jill needs your help. Jill is currently in a little bit of a tight spot. Her SA was kind enough to provide her with two pictures of the Dior Rebelle, in both camel and chocolate brown. Which one should she go for? Personally, I think the choc is quite delicious, what do you think?

Westie Puppy Purse

It’s a dog!? It’s a purse?! It’s both!

I think the createurs of this repulsively hideous *thing* give dog lovers too much credit. No way in a thousand years do I see a sane woman carry this thing (no offense to those who buy one and actually carry it). Yikes. For $34 via Bia Collection.

Now this reminds of an idea that my friend had a few weeks back - he suggested to provide a service for people to have their passed pets turned into handbags. Any VCs in for this one?

Day Birger et Mikkelsen Embellished Shoulder Bag

While some say different strokes for different folks, with this bag I could not agree at all. Yes my opinion is merely my opinion, but this bag is beyond hideous to me. The Day Birger et Mikkelsen Embellished Shoulder Bag just hurts my eyes to look at. While the sequin embellishment is alright, the color scheme makes me dizzy enough to fall over. The tassel and bead detailing which hang from the bottom are so up and over any kind of tasteful tassels. What I can say is that this bag will never hang from my arm. What about you? Via Net-A-Porter for $184.66.

Lulu Guinness Too Rich Too Thin Keeley

Ok so this bag should just make you all laugh. I am going to go out on a limb and venture to say that many and most of you would say you could lose a few extra pounds and could be making a few extra bucks. Right now I am sitting at my desk wondering why I haven’t worked out at all recently and wondering why so many people can walk up and down 5th Ave and shop like they do and I can’t! But Lulu Guinness thinks you can be too thin and too rich. The Lulu Guinness Too Rich Too Thin Keeley is bold with its statement and fun with its color. The black canvas bag closes with a zip fastening and has colorful embroidery that reads “You can be too rich and too thin”. While I love the cause, I can’t help but think that so many of us will disagree (cough cough- me!) Either way it is fun and you can help make the ‘please avoid being Victoria Beckham thin’ statement. Available via Lulu Guinness for ВЈ150 (about US $275).

Fendi Matisse Spy Bag

This limited edition Fendi Matisse Spy is new for S/S 06. Personally, I never had much of a special regard for arts. But when it came down to it, I’ve always had favorites that I loved to look at. Monet, Picasso and Matisse always managed to impress me the most. I truely believe that Henry would have loved to see his impressionistic works on these exclusive bags; I think the Spy looks gorgeous in this version. A wonderful symbiosis of fashion and art, like I haven’t seen it in a while. Each piece is hand painted, which makes each bag in the limited series completely unique.

Fendi Crackled Suede Spy

I can’t ever get enough of the Spy. And neither can Fendi. This Fendi Crackled Suede Spy is part of the Limited Edition line of Spy bags, there are only 15 available for the US. What a flashy bag that is… not only do you get the brilliant Spy shape, but also the eyecatching effect of shiny metallic suede. Love it!

Extra info: This bag runs for almost $5,800, for those of you who might be interested in putting it on special order.
