The funky early winter has my body all verschimmelt and this late winter weather has my inner most bones frozen and wondering what in the world is going on. But Prada is on track for spring which leaves my cold bones in a state of euphoria thinking of cruises, beaches, and a tan. Thumbs up from my end on a selection of the Prada Sping 2007 Handbags which implement bold colors and fun textures which are big for spring.

First we have the Prada Juta/Python Frame Bag. Perfectly combining juta and python trim, this handbag is the epitome of a cruise collection. Measurements are 13″H X 14ВЅ”L X 6″W. Beautiful for spring via Saks for $1890. Next there is the Prada Studded Straw Frame Bag which is a little more dressy but still Jimmy-Buffet-poolside-margarita-casual. The gold studs are paired with a straw frame bag, leather trim on the coroners and top, and a magnetic snap closure. 12″H X 16ВЅ”L X 6″W and available for $1470 via Saks. Bottom left is a bag that exemplifies all things hot for spring; including bold color, funky pattern, and braided rope handles. The Prada Canvas Frame Bag showcases a bold orange color alongside its printed canvas frame body which features red, yellow, and green colored designs. Funky and fresh, I could not typically see myself loving this bag, but for some reason I am oddly drawn to it. Measurements are 11″H X 14″L X 7″W and this bag goes for $1750 through Saks. The Prada Ruched Nylon/Leather Tote strongly resembles its in the lime-light sister, the Prada Grauffre, and in a simple color is a great bag for spring. The reason I really love this ruched nylon tote is because it is easy to clean. There is a removable cross-body strap and the dimensions are 11″H X 12ВЅ”L X 5″ВЅW. Buy it via Saks for $1450.

Prada IT BAG??…Or Cousin IT bag??!

Apparently being called the next new ‘IT’ bag from Prada, the Prada Fringe Bag is now making its Spring 2007 debut. I normally adore ALL Prada, but this particular style makes me want to run out and get a rabies shot before I touch it. Quite frankly, looking at it gives me hives. After loving and adoring my Prada Gauffre bags, I’m quite shocked at Prada’s blunder with this new ‘IT’ bag. Perhaps its just too funky for myself, but if I saw it on someone… I’d throw it a dog treat and run.

Perhaps it’s that I’ve washed one too many practice football jerseys… but I’m not in love with the “cutout details” on the Miu Miu Large Nappa Leather Satchel. Come on you washers-of-the-jerseys, you know what I mean. Such a strong resemblance to the hole-y fabric of the infamous practice jersey on the beautiful bag, I don’t think so. Other than that, pretty style and comfortable looking shape along with a removable shoulder strap. Via Saks for $1495.

Miuccia Prada is head of the Prada label as well as the Miu Miu label. Between the two lines, Miu Miu is the up and coming little sister of Prada, showcasing all the flair, style, and chic appeal with a bit of a less costly price tag. All the rage right now is the super hot Miu Miu Coffer Leather Handbag which resembles some of the must have Prada handbags at the moment with its light brown ruched leather. This bag is drool worthy because it combines casual with drop dead sexy. The plaited handle and gold hardware pair together with a clasp fastening on the front and a removable shoulder strap (which can be worn across the body). Santa baby, bring this bag to me this year. Being able to kick this sinus infection would be so much easier if I were in the sunshine laying by my beach (which I will be in 4 short days). Until then, the best remedy is looking at bags that remind me that Spring Resort 2007 Handbags are waiting for me in the stores. Prada did not disappoint this fall with their handbags (especially their Prada Gauffre) and this coming spring they have tied in the quilt with nylon to bring us a similar yet different Prada Quilted Nylon Satchel. This quilted nylon satchel is trimmed with leather and features braided leather handles and buckle detailed straps. To make this bag fit across the body, there is a detachable shoulder strap. Leather trim, braided handles and buckle detailed straps. Measuring 9Вѕ”H X 17;”L X 6Вј”W, this bag is love for spring at first sight. The price is high in my opinion for nylon, but it is Prada, you know we pay for the name too. Pre-order via Saks for $1745.

To all the mothers, people with younger siblings, and people who have babysat before in their life: what does this bag look like to you? If your first answer is what you see when you open your baby’s diaper… then you will be on the same page as Vlad and I. I am all for exotic skins- in fact, I really love exotics. But this bag is just the wrong color scheme and the marbleizing that occurs from the python just looks wrong. The Marc Jacobs Python Chain Satchel is described as cinnamon/dark brown python leather bag with golden hardware. I did not realize that anyone actually calls a snake that can weigh up to 300 lbs and be as long as 33 feet cinnamon in color. Maybe it is just me, but I find it highly comical. Chain shoulder straps are a huge trend right now, so I do appreciate the shoulder strap with multicolor ring insets and clips. Close up your dainty cinnamon bag with a push-lock closure on the front. $2500 at Neiman Marcus- I soo will pass this bag up, it needs a Huggie!

For the past few years, Prada has not designed any bags that I really fell for. The Robot Tricks were fun, but the price tags that came with those key fobs made me laugh (while also not shelling out the money). The Fall Prada bags are overly hot and most everyone wants to get their hands on one. Jessica Simpson may be letting herself go (creepy makeup, weird made-up relationships, etc) but she still carries killer handbags. One of my favorite bags from the Prada line right now is the Prada Napa Gauffre Frame Bag which pairs pleated leather with a frame closure to make this runway bag hot. Check out more Prada bags via your local Prada boutique, Bergdorf Goodman, or Neiman Marcus.

On a side note, were you all aware that Jessica and Pappa Joe are creating a restaurant chain similar to Hooters, called Daisy Dukes. The word is the waitresses will dress similar to how Jess dressed when she played in the Dukes of Hazzard movie. Pappa Joe likes this idea. {via Celebrity Rumors}

While New York Fashion Week is over, Fashion week around the world continues to happen. There are not many times that I fall head over heels for an entire line. Yet Bottega Veneta’s Spring 2007 Runway Show in Milan has me head-over-heels in love. Bottega’s accessories focused on exotic skins, large hand held bags, over-sized bows for your hair (oh yea, bows in the hair are making a come back), chunky heels, and of course luxe woven leather. Tomas Maier year after year is showing that less is more, including this “spring show which worked beautifully as a stripped-down statement of what he has to offer: a subtle beige-through-rose palette, ease aligned with elegance, and stunning detail in close-up.” You are drooling too, right??

And as you all know, I am a woman who loves her dresses, and the Bottega Veneta dresses for Spring make me so giddy inside- I will begin to save now.

Fringe is in for Prada this coming Spring (which seems so far away right now). From satin scarves on the models’ heads to fringe bags and bold colors, Prada’s Spring 2007 line is reminiscent of the 1970’s. The bold colors took over the Milan runway, showing us that Prada wants the looks from their line to remain forefront in your mind this coming spring. Fringe bags have never been my thing, but Prada’s bags right now are such a hit that these fringe bags may also make their way to the ‘it’ bags of Spring.

Now if only the models would get a little more excited to be part of the Prada Spring 2007 Ready to Wear Runway Show.

One of the latest ‘it’ bags from the house of Chloe was the Edith. The Edith handbag implemented beauty and simple design to leave many women going crazy. Chloe is known for releasing many different versions of their bags that are a huge hit (think of all the different Paddington’s). The Chloe Large Edith Bowling Bag combines divine chocolate brown leather with a bowling style frame and silver hardware. Chloe bags are not for everyone though; I know many people who feel the oversized stitching and appendages are too much. But Chloe bags fit my style perfectly, so this bag really has me swooning.
