Jessica Simpson’s Bag’n Shoe Ad

While Ms PurseBlog Herself is trying to stay dry from Ernesto down in Florida, I would like to share something with you guys that certainly made my day. I never really thought that Jessica Simpson was particularly hot, her “smarts” surely didn’t help me find her more attractive. However, after seeing Jessica’s latest ad for her shoe and bag line, I must excuse myself while my blood starts boiling in excitement.

Hawt stuff. Click on the thumb to enlarge.

Megs loves her shoes, they fit her small toes perfectly. I haven’t seen much of Jessica’s bags yet, but I am sure they wouldn’t disappoint me if they are only half as good as their ad.

Jean Paul Gaultier Trench Bag

Have you ever wondered who was responsible for popularizing skirts on men? The answer to this question is not really all that shocking. Jean Paul Gaultier is known for edgy street chic designs and his out-of-the-box style. Many of his bags are also on their own page. But the Jean Paul Gaultier Trench Bag shows off soft grained leather with leather overlay (trench style) and a funky colorful silk interior that coincides with JPG signature style. The front flaps have oversized buttons and there is a decorative belt that encompasses the bag. With all of the flaps and buttons it looks like you could undress this bag. Maybe that is what JPG had in mind

I am digging this bag and its size- 16.5″ x 9.5″ x 6″. Available via eLuxury for $1295.

Barneys New York Leather Compass

If any of you have been wondering why I have been not around much lately, it is because I have been moving. Seriously, moving so much is a pain in the rear. After a wonderful summer in NYC, I packed up and moved back to the Mid West. Because I am a fashionista myself, I had 4 bags of luggage; 2 of them weighing nearly 100 pounds each. Ha. Once I arrived back in Ohio, it was time for another move. Vlad and I thought we did not need a moving company. Because of my bad shoulder I really was no help, which left Vlad carrying all of my stuff up 3 flights of stairs. Now he is bruised, I am annoyed, and I truly do not want to unpack. But once I do, I have to take a picture of my new closet! It is not the closet of my dreams (my dreams truly are unrealistic though at times

) but it is a closet to melt over! It is huge and roomy and just makes me smile REALLY big. So with all of the moving I have had to neglect the blog and forum for a bit. But I have a lovely vacation coming up and we have many things in store for you all. In the mean time, if any of you are thinking of moving, you may need a compass. Honestly, I don’t know of anyone that uses once since we have GPS now, but it is worth a shot. For stylish leather covered compass with gold details, hit up Barneys New York. The Barneys New York Leather Compass measures 2×2 and is available for $75 through Barneys in green, orange, and tan.

Celine Asymmetric Shoulder Bag

I have decided I have a case of OCD. I am sure we all do to some extent. But I have my ‘things’. For instance I must have my keys out and ready before I get to my car or house, I must wash my hands about 800 times when cooking or after riding the sub, and I am a perfectionist. So the thought of a a bag that is asymmetric bothers me a little bit - I am lying, quite a bit. The Celine Asymmetric Shoulder Bag is designed from mahogany leather and is accented with gold hardware and wood detailing on one end of the strap. Yes, just one end (OCD is kicking in here). The body of the bag is also asymmetric (OCD alert) which adds a different appeal to the eye. There is a gold zip fastening at the top and this shoulder bag is lined in red fabric. You be the judge- but my OCD and perfectionism kind of makes me not love this bag. Buy it via Net-a-porter for $1550.

Diane von Furstenberg Red Convertible Bag

Red was always a color I strayed from. Lately, I am drawn to it. It is so sexy and sultry. Lately I have also become literally obsessed with Diane von Furstenberg Wrap Dresses. The dresses are easy to throw on and very flattering. I wasn’t aware of the beautiful DVF accessories. The Diane von Furstenberg Red Convertible Bag combines slouchy with stylish. The body is ponyhair and the bag is trimmed in leather. There is a hammered brass ‘love knot’ which is based off out the DVF H. Stern Jewelry Collection. Pockets are what make this bag spacious and roomy- there are two side pockets and a front pocket with a diagonal flap closure. Pricey yes, beautiful yes - Buy it from DVF online for $1190.

Juicy Couture Crest Leather Shoulder Bag

If I did not give you the title of this bag, I bet you would not have know that it is made my Juicy Couture. The understated Juicy Couture Crest Leather Shoulder Bag combines stone leather with two front pockets and chunky silver hardware. Understated pink stitching adorns the bag along with stud embellishment, a zip top closure, and double handles. The shape and slouch actually reminds me of a Chloe Paddington, but the studs, rivets, and crown set it apart. While I am not a huge fan of the crown, the rest of the bag is pretty nice (especially compared to many other over-the-top Juicy bags). On the inside there is pink silk and a zip pocket. Buy this not-so-average-Juicy bag for an overly juicy $1,100 via Net-A-Porter.

Lara Bohinc Laratina Denim Bag

Well, it has been one week since my big move to the Big Apple. Let me just say, I am loving it. I can’t lie, it would be great if Vlad were here, but he should be making a visit soon. This weekend I did lots of exploring. Let me tell you, if you come to NYC, you will never ever worry about finding a Starbucks. There are at least 8 within 1 mile of my apartment. I love it. On my twice-daily trips to Starbucks, I have seen all sorts of different people. That is one guarantee if you are living in the city. Today I saw the most eclectic woman. On first glance I thought I may totally not like anything about her outfit, but then I realized that I actually did appreciate her bag. It was ornate and completely different than what I usually see. Oddly enough, I have found it! The mystery bag is the Lara Bohinc Laratina Denim Bag. Not everyone may appreciate the originality of the bag, but I think certain people can surely pull it off (I just don’t think I am one of them!). This bag is a ruched dark blue denim shoulder bag that is trimmed with chocolate brown leather. The plaited handle is quirky and different and is finished off with gold chain detail on both ends. When I saw the bag, the handle somewhat resembled a grape vine or a snake- but that was probably the gold mesh knot detail on the front. Ok so really, this bag is different- but so many of us have such different styles that it is ok. Finishing off the bag is peacock satin lining. Well, yes, this bag is very different and ornate, but if you are that classy lady that is more than able to pull it off, rock it out girl. It is now on sale via Net-A-Porter for $433.57.

Gryson Large Leather Shoulder Bag

Hello from NYC everyone!! Finally I am getting a bit more settled and able to browse and talk to you about all the great things in life (accessories at least). First of all, my mom and I did some 5th Ave shopping yesterday. She fell in love with a Mink Spy Bag. It was to die for, but she decided not to get it because it made no sense in South Florida. Although, I did try to convince her to buy it for me- but that didn’t work. We also saw quite a few gorgeous Croc Spy Bags that cost the most hefty tag of $25,000. While the bags were gorgeous (especially the white and pink) the price makes me think of a car- not a bag. I’m just not there yet!!

So with much browsing and perusing I decided a gorgeous color combination for summer is white and brown. Fendi had a B Bag that was white canvas with brown leather trim, which was gorgeous too. But for something a bit more affordable there is the Gryson Large Leather Shoulder Bag. This bag combines plush white leather with chocolate trim which is the look I have in mind for summer. To accent this killer combo is golden-finished brass hardware. This bag has a funky feel with the shoulder straps and woven top handle which goes along with the hanging ID tag. There is a zip top closure and suede interior lining with zip and slide pockets. Measuring 12″H x 17″W x 9″ D, this bag could bring you into the summer with a fashionable accessory. Via Bergdorf Goodman for $855.

Bottega Veneta Velvet Shoulder Bag

When I think of Spring, velvet is not one of the first things that comes to mind. But that doesn’t stop me from loving this bag. The Bottega Veneta Velvet Shoulder Bag shows off a bit of a Western vibe with its metallic leather trim along with lush Blush velvet. Perfectly cute for a dress or jeans, the bag shows off a silver flower chain handle. I keep seeing westernized themes popping up and while some of them are not my style, some of them do catch my eye and leave me feeling a little more Southern than usual. On the handle there is yellow leather trim and both sides of the bag show off a plaited leather design. On the inside, Bottega gives you lush blue suede and an internal pocket. While this bag does not immediately come to mind when I think of Spring, it looks absolutely posh. Buy it through Net-a-Porter for $1650.
