Memorial Day Special

I’ve always been the little girl who loved army print. My brother had an entire Army outfit, from boots to hat, and would run around the house chasing me and ultimately putting me in prison. That sucked. But especially now, while we are at war, sporting Army print shows your support and love for our country. No matter what you think about the war, you have to know that these men and women there now need all the support we can give them. So I figured, for this Memorial Day, why not show-off some love for our country and the men and women that have and still are serving.

Today is also a dedication to my friend Phil. Phil is a good friend of mine who served our country and fought in Iraq. He was lucky enough to not only do well while there, but come home safe to his friends and family. Since I have been promising him a shout out on my site, I figured today would be a dedication to him and his fellow friends in the service. Phil has told me many stories, showed me many pictures, and deserves much respect and accolades for what he and all the others serving have done for us. I am sure many of you reader’s know someone who has or is still serving our country, so feel free to thank them and wish them luck in our comment section.

For starters, why not show off your red, white and blue via a Rolfs American Flag Novelty Coin Purse. This purse is made of leather with a star shaped zipper puller, back pocket and a keychain. For $15 at Rolfs, this purse to show your support to our country is the perfect little accessory.

Now I am getting to the fun part, because camouflage is really my thing. Let’s face it girls, a man in camouflage just makes you smile. Uniform is always nice (especially when it’s not your Catholic school uniform from grade school- ugh). Like I said before I have always been a fan of the army camo and I have fallen in more than love with these MZ Wallace bags. These bags are not just any bags; they are posh designer bags that sport love for our country on a beautifully designed bag. In their spring 2005 chain collection, MZ Wallace features three camo patterned bags: the Carlyle, the Roma, and the New York Tote. I want to focus on the Roma because I believe for any girl it is the perfect bag to show support and love of our country without being too over the top for many women. This bag is a classic handbag shape made with a pale desert camouflage quilted nylon canvas. The bag features a chain handle and is trimmed in Italian pebble grain leather. Other perks to the bag are the flap with swivel clip closure, large inside zipper pocket, cell phone pocket plus two additional multi-purpose pockets. And the coolest part is that this bag is water and stain resistant, which is good for any woman, because face it girls, we aren’t perfect. This MZ Wallace Roma costs $240, but is well worth each and every dollar of the price.

Aleya Handbags has given us the Rich Girls collection, camouflage satchels with metallic bronze trims. This kind of made me laugh a bit to have it be called the Rich Girls collection, but then again upon further inspection the bags were named the Nicole, Jessica, and Paris respectively. Actually really cool when you think about it; these well known girls have been given names on a line of camo bags. My favorite is the The Nicole Hobo in Camouflage. The Nicole Hobo is made of nylon canvas camouflage trimmed in bronze metallic leather and featuring luxurious gold hardware. This bag is able to sit comfortably on your shoulder and measures 18″ wide at the base and 10 1/2″ at center with bag closed and a depth of 5″. You can buy any of the Rich Girls collection online at Aleya, the Nicole Hobo in Camouflage is $200.

Dior Paris ’50s Print Saddle Bag

Do you remember grabbing tugging on your daddy’s pant leg when you were a little girl and crying and begging for a pony? If you just nodded your head all I can say is, “What a selfish brat!” Wait. Just kidding, I did it all the time. A pony among many other things. In fact, if you ever have the pleasure of meeting my wonderful father, don’t even ask him if I was a difficult child (because he would obviously say No, Duh!) Anyway, what does a pony have to do with anything you ask yourself. Well, as much as many of us ladies wanted a pony, we also should want a Saddle. The Dior Saddle Bag of course! Now this isn’t just any Dior Saddle Bag, this is the Dior Paris ’50’s Print Saddle Bag, and I can tell you I really really want it worse than I ever wanted a pony!

This bag not only a limited edition but also manifests a whimsical Parisian chic style, and shows off some of the most beautiful monuments and scenes in Paris through iconic sketches including Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, and of course, fashionable women. “Prettied up with canary yellow and lilac flowers, this artful take on the classic saddle is truly a piece to treasure.” I could not agree more. Of course this classy little number is trimmed and piped in smooth leather, has the focal point at the oversized polished silver metal “D” charm dangling from the top flap, and a leather shoulder strap with polished silver metal “CD” charms. All of which I adore. Back to the pony. When you begged your daddy for that pony you just had to have, the answer was usually no. I have a feeling I will get the same response again for the much loved saddle. The Dior Paris ’50’s Print Saddle bag could be a down payment for a pony; coming in at a hefty $1,015 via eLuxury.

Coach Patchwork Bags

Megs and I, we both *love* Coach. Reasons are several, the style, the colors, the price, the quality, and many more. Another aspect that strikes us positively is that they keep releasing mid-season styles for bags in their signature shapes. Recall the Valentine’s Day specials or the Soho line? The brand-spankin’ new Coach Patchwork Bags take a different approach. For all those gals who just can’t decide what they like better, calfskin, some metallic accents, swank suede, the new tie dye canvas or their signature fabric, Coach is now making the choice ridiculously easy by combining all of the mentioned in the Patchwork line. Awesome! I think it’s just absolutely fabulous, very sporty looking and perfect for the everyday business of yours. The tote on the very left is the Coach Signature Patchwork Shoulder Tote and weighs in at $378 through Coach directly. The Coach Signature Patchwork Wristlet is their patched up interpretation of the beloved classic and goes for a mere $78 bucks. Lastly, on the right, we gots the Signature Patchwork Demi, the mid-sized handbag by Coach for $198.

Verdict: We love ‘em all and can’t wait to get one for Lady Meggers! P.S. How would a matching Cruiser Hat look on me? Just kidding.

Crystalyn Kae Bossa Nova Baby Bag

All I keep hearing about is women who are expecting. I bet this is actually some of you ladies, right? It must be spring. Yes, let’s blame it on spring. Either way, finding a diaper bag must be a pain. I know there are beautiful designer bags, but I have noticed that many of them are made of cotton, which is probably a really bad idea when you think of it. Think of spit up, dirty diapers, baby food being slung, and all of that other beautifully clean “stuff” babies do. Don’t get me wrong, I love babies!! But I know they always find a way to make a mess, and I, being the Purse and Handbag Connoisseur, don’t want to let you mommies have your precious bags be negatively affected!

With that being said I ran across this Crystalyn Kae Bossa Nova Baby Bag and that ding-ding-ding, light bulb flashing sort of deal went off in my head. Not only is this baby bag not the typical box shape, it is also washable!! Score! For this one I am going to let the website do all the talking because I don’t want to leave any important information out:

“The striking contrast of metal hardware and draped sashes, punctuate these buttery-soft glazed handbags. Delicately ribbed grosgrain showcases front flap details and lining. The draped strap is cinched into metal rings and attaches with silver snaps to allow for you to wear it long across your chest, or shorten the strap to 18″ or 24″ to tuck under your arm. Inside, 3 elasticized pockets, large enough to accommodate bottles, plus cell phone pocket, PDA / Mp3 player pocket, and inner zip pocket keep everything in place. Zipper closure with snap flap. 15″ tall, 18″wide, 3.5″ deep, 34″ strap - (snaps to adjust to 18″ or 24″). Hand wash in cold water, hang dry.”

So women, let me know what you think! I think this is one of the most practical and stylish baby bags ever. If this bag does it for you, click your way to Virgin Threads and buy it for $145.

Inge Christopher Curved-Frame Evening Bag

Again I find myself focusing on evening bags, because for some reason important events have seemed to pop up left and right. I love being part of really fancy dinner parties, balls, business meetings or what have you. For me it’s a time to get to play dress up, which I think every woman should embrace, and another reason to get to splurge on a new gown or dress and of course evening bag! (Actually the last party I attended the woman who threw the party for herself, a very high-class socialite, had an evening bag made simply of diamonds- my jaw was walking on the floor for the entire evening gawking over it!) Anyhow I know that not all of us can afford a bag adorned in the finest jewels and diamonds and satinГў€¦ pah! One of these days I may be able to, but for now I love finding simply elegant and affordable evening bags.

I ran across these Inge Christopher Curved-Frame Evening Bags and decided for $60 they could cut it as a cute little evening bag when the cash funds are low. “A graceful shape and luxurious heavy satin provide a lovely setting for delicate beadwork” was exactly what I have been looking for. The bag also has an inside pocket, a wrist chain, and a kiss-lock closure. I don’t always like to just wear black, and if you are like me and enjoy spicing things up, the colors available will really make you smile. These bags are available in a plethora of colors, including Black, Brown, Lime, Red, Gold, and Purple. These cutesy bags dimensions are: 9″W x 4 1/4″H X 2 1/2″D which proves that it is perfectly sized for a glamorous evening out on the town. Available through Nordstrom.

Yoni Pussy Purse

I am utterly disturbed by the sheer overwhelming femininity y0ny radiates out of that TFT of mine. While most of Dorrie Lane’s stuff makes me really grateful to have been born with a queue and a set of complementary balls, the Pussy Purse just hits my taste right on the spot. It’s the perfect accessory for any Jane Doe to manifest her emancipated femme that never broke through the physical shell, to attract curious looks and solicit her vagina in a… yeah… pocket kinda way, while John Doe might find replacement for his worn-out Fleshlight. Brilliant! While you are at it, why not satisfy your urge for play and get yourself a custom-made $400 Wondrous Vulva Puppet. Sheesh, I’ve seen my fair share of
www weirdness over the years, but this just scares me. I would like to suggest to Dorrie to cut the hallucinogenic wonder stix and get laid. ‘Cuz you know she craves it bad when there’s pussy purses and puppets involved. For $12 through y0ni.com.

P.S. I feel the sudden need to engage in some male activity. Anyone up for some beer and football?

Tod’s D Bag Grande

Purse Blogistess Meaghan’s mom was treated with the Gucci Large Horsebit Hobo for Mother’s Day (yeap… hip bags run in the family), and while the hobo is absolutely swank and glamorous, I dare to say Mother’s Day should have been a good 2 weeks later. Tod’s just happened to indulge the tote devotee crowd with their new Tod’s D Bag Grande. For 2k5, Tod’s reinvented the iconic D Bag in sturdy, yet supple leather with a fine contrast topstitching and finishes in detail par excellence. The sumptuous tote bares a luxurious leather interior and rolled handles that imply comfortable handling. The drawstring ties on the bag’s ends are finished with silver metal Tod’s pieces , while one tie bears a silver metal mini accessory that reads “D-BAG” on one side and “2005″ on the other. Clever! The 16″ x 13″ x 5.5″ tote goes for an even $1,200 via eLuxury.

Balenciaga Bags

This post is do overdue, it’s not even remotely funny. About freakin’ time I got myself together to compile the best Balenciaga bags for Spring/Summer of ‘05. What I didn’t know until recently is that Balenciaga actually uses naturally distressed goat leather that gives the bags the slouchy, unique and ultra chic look that everyone loves and adores. Every female celebrity that comes to mind has one, but more about that later. Let’s show some bags and colors:

Balenciaga City Motorcycle Bag in Pewter - highly limited version and indefinitely unattainable.

Balenciaga City Motorcycle Bag in Verde Green - ВЈ720 at Brown’s Fashion. Inquire directly about availability.

Balenciaga Motorcycle Bag in Pink - ВЈ660 at Brown’s Fashion. Also, inquire directly about their availability.

Balenciaga Mini Twiggy in Teal, absolutely my favorite color - ВЈ515 through Brown’s Fashion. As of now, available in Sky Blue.

Balenciaga Classique in Noir - $995 through Aloharag.com. Definitely call them up, they don’t update the Balenciaga store page as frequently as they should.

Balenciaga Suede Sac Bag in Grey - $1050 through Aloharag.com.

Eye candy got you thinking? A word of advice to you - due to the nature of intense demand, there is so many shops online claiming to sell the real deal, and yet only offering cheap knock-offs. My advice: If someone offers you a 100% authentic Balenciaga for half the retail price, forgetaboutit. Stay away from Ebay, 99% of the sold bags are faux. Best bet are either Balenciaga brick’n mortar stores, malls like NM or Saks, or Balenciaga-certified online retailers, such as mentioned Brown’s or Aloha Rag. Don’t get ripped off.

Knomo Laptop Carriers

The UK Guardian rages “Louis Vuitton of laptop carriers” and that with good reason. There is absolutely no excuse for the fashion conscious working women of the 21st century to settle for mediocre, monotone and boring apparel, especially when it comes down to laptop carriers. London based Knomo stuns with a range of contemporary computer luggage with classy shapes and innovative features. Seldomly have I seen more striking and outstanding bags that promise to both keep your computing portables safe during transit and most importantly, complement you with a touch of sophistication.

Each Knomo bag is packed with brilliantly designed and engineered features. The Knomo Tracker is a unique owner code that helps identify its owner in case of misplacement, allowing bag and owner to be reunited. All bags are also constructed of high quality materials, including double layers of high-density foam aiding shock absorption in case of bumps or knocks. Most appealing in my opinion is the quilted pouch that each bag comes with. It enables you to quickly detach it from the outer shell to take your laptop for a quick spin to the cafe. In addition, each bag has its own protective bag for cables, power supplies and other miscellaneous items.

First candidate for today’s exposition is the executive laptop bag named Cholet. The carrier features a genuine leather outside and smooth strengthened nylon on the gusset. A generously long shoulder strap ensures comfortable fit, while its insides reveal easily accessible phone and wallet pockets, along with additional inner pockets for PDA, iPod and stationery. An extra pocket keeps daily documents in place. Of course, the bag comes, as mentioned before, with the Knomo tracker, the quilted pouch and bundle bag for cables and the like. The bag comes in four different shades (Bloody Mary being the one pictured above) and fits most 14 inch laptops. The ultra chic carrier goes for £150, which equates to about $280.

The second bag I’d like to show is the daily commuter bag Quetta. This bag carries a slightly different design and targets the daily office application in general. The Quetta is slighty larger in depth by about an inch. Its handles are shorter and softly padded for comfy toting. The larger unisex sibling to the Cholet fits 14-15 inch laptops and comes in Bloody Mary Red, James Brown and Limo Black. The Quetta finds new owners upon payment of £175 (about $325).

UK customers profit from the company’s free UK shipping, and if you order a bag until 13 hundred sharp, you will get your Knomo delivered by the next business day! Totally PB-approved! The US American clientele luckily can order their Knomo bags as well, with delivery within usually 5 business days. Check out Knomo’s fine assortment at KnomoBags.com or order directly through their online store.

I’ve included two pictures below to give you an idea of how big the Cholet and Quetta run - click (more…) to view them.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Denim

I hope you all had a wonderful day, honoring the mothers and praising the days on which you bursted through their placentas and lost your innocence. This afternoon we introduce the Limited Edition category, in which special and limited makes of popular handbags will be featured. A good candidate is the Louis Vuitton Monogram Denim series with croc trim that goes for about $4200, excluding the sidekick — that goes for another $350. The series with croc trim is limited to 200 pieces.

Generally, I dislike the new denim canvas on their bags. I believe LV would be better off reinventing their bag shapes and using the classic monogram canvas, instead of overdoing the whole fruit thing and making their bags look like Marc Jacobs threw up on them. If you dig the denim, you can check Vuitton.com for more of their Monogram Denim bags… for me they mean just wasted space on the blog front page.
