Ashlee Simpson Shops at Coach

And you thought you didn’t see many celebs shopping at Coach… Well, Ashlee Simpson does (if she even counts as a celeb). It looks like Little Simpson did some major shopping at Coach- I wonder what goodies she has in the bag? What baffles me is that she is merely the sister of Jessica, her album was not huge (at least in my standards), and she just bought a 9,000 sq ft home on an acre of land in California’s San Fernando Valley. Whaa?? I’m about to go make Angelina adopt me, then I’ll start a singing career, then I’ll make sure to lip-sing on SNL (since I will have to since I can’t sing at all), and then I can be on my way to a small mansion in Cali. Any of you with me?

Chloe Paddington Wallet

Granted, not everyone has the monetary assets to buy bags that sell for thousands of dollars. The Chloe Paddington may only go for about a grant and a half, but then its availability (or lack thereof) creates another big issue that potential ‘it’ bag buyers must face. While Megs was lucky to have bought one of the last burgundy red Paddies available for this year (via the Chloe stores), others were not that lucky this year. The demand for Paddies was just overwhelming, I remember the lady at the Paris store laughing at me when I inquired for the precious bags a few weeks back. Please take a slip and wait in line… make yourself comfortable ‘cuz it’s gonna be a long wait - that’s as close of a description of what her laugh tried to tell me.

A viable alternative to those who want to get a piece of the paddilicious pie is the $360 Chloe Paddington Wallet. Yes ladies, the matching wallet to the infamous bag. The chocolate brown leather wallet comes with the signature large brass key, dangling off a silver zip fastening. Did I mention all Paddies have silver YKK zippers, no matter what the color of bag or handware? Internal pockets for credit cards, coins and notes and a slim press stud fastening pocket on the outside with brass rivets and ‘Chloe’ insignia provide ’nuff slots to store away all your magic plastic. More plastic, more shopping! Hence, the spacious wallet comes (un)practically handy when heading for the weekend shopping spree. Via Net-A-Porter.

Coach Suede Beaded Tote

On with our day of Tuesday Totes, I have found yet another brown tote. As much as I am a lover of totes, all of the browns for fall are making me feel very drab. But this Coach Suede Beaded Tote is at least easier on your wallet than many other bags out there. I love this tote because it adds a little bit of fun to an overall ’safe’ bag- and by safe I mean not daring with color or design (hey, why should it? It’s a brown suede tote!) The strips of bright bugle beads do not immediately stand out, but upon further inspection they give the bag quite a nice finishing touch. The rest of the bag is adorned in soft brown (actual color is called Flint) suede and is trimmed in metallic leather. The inside is lined in fabric and has inside zip pockets including a cellphone/multi-function pocket. Being a zip top closure is quite a perk for a tote, which makes it a little safer to carry around. The handles are an adjustable 17 1/2Гў€Вќ and the bag measurements are 15 3/8 (L) x 10 1/2 (H) x 4 3/8 (W). This tote can be yours for $358 via Coach.

P.S. If you’d like to see this bag try to be daring, take a peek here! (I don’t like the color at all)

Gucci Large Shearling Tote

If we are up to date with our fall fashion, like we should be, we all know that shearling is ‘in’. I mean waaay in style. But just because you are a high end designer with a well-known name, it doesn’t mean that each of your bags will be a hit even if they implement the looks of the season. The Gucci Large Shearling Tote simply does not do it for me. Granted I have not yet seen this bag in person, but from the looks of it the bag does not look beige- rather the color you would see when you open up a baby’s diaper. The entire tote is monogrammed with the Gucci GG logo on the beige shearling and is trimmed in beige leather. This tote is also a pretty nice size: 10 3/4″H x 13 3/4″W x 5 3/4″D, but I’d still really rather pass. Of course, since the Gucci name is attached, this bag goes for $1,295 via Bergdorf Goodman.

Marc Jacobs Mink Flap Shoulder Bag

It’s fug time. This is a bit more than just a plain Blah bag, its fuggilicious! Usually I love Marc Jacobs bags. I love their new quilted bags. But I ran into this thing, and it’s not doing anything but making me wanna run the other way. The Marc Jacobs Mink Flap Shoulder Bag makes sure to follow the trend setting with using exotic fabric, mink, but the overall bag has absolutely no appeal. Let me start with what I can like by itself first, then move to what I hate. First I actually really think the mink looks gorgeous (it should right? It’s mink!). Umm I guess the leather lining with the inside pocket would be fine too. But what I don’t like is the goldtone double chain strap with the absolutely hideous mink accents. Seriously, it looks like some of those arts and crafts puffy balls you used in Pre-School when being creative. This fug bag measures 10″H X 9¾”L X 2″W and sells for a whopping $2,900 through Saks.

Celine Small Leather Messenger

Some bags just don’t do it for me. There is just some special spark missing. When I looked at this Celine Small Leather Messenger Bag I thought to myself, “Yea, so what?” Not that the bag isn’t cute, but there is nothing special about it that makes it stand out from so many other brown bags and makes me want to buy it. Especially with the price tag. Now, I am sure some of you are remembering my liking the Kooba Sienna brown bag just a few days ago, but I truly liked the shape of that bag and thought it had some character. This bag is a petite messenger bag made of supple leather with polished silvertone hardware. The sumptuous leather drapes on the flap closure which gives an overall bland feeling I think. The only different thing about this bag is the shoulder strap, which looks harsh and uncomfortable with all of the silvertone links and blaison-embossed studs. Not that the links and studs don’t add something special, but that is where all the weight of the bag will be laying - on your shoulder, and I just see that getting quite uncomfortable quite quickly. The inside does have a zip pocket, a cell phone pocket, and an open slot pocket. This bag is called a messenger bag, but unless you are carrying an apple around town, the bag doesn’t offer much other room. The measurements of the bag are only 11″ x 6″ x 5″. When you think about that size and how the bag can be worn, all I can think is how silly it would look on a tall woman or almost any woman unless she is petite like whoa. Looks like I have given this bag a bad review. All I can say is, “So what?” Pricing in at $895 via eLuxury, this bag will not make it onto my wish list.

Versace Velvet Show Bag

Today is obviously the day of showy bags. Probably a bit too much for most of you to handle. I feel like if these bags all got together and went to a party, when the disco ball would shine on them the light would blind the room. Wonder if I am making any of you feel that way with my metallic/python/gold/striped bag day today. Anyhow I just feel like these bags can only be pulled off with the simplest of simple outfits- nice jeans, a white tank, and cute heels. Anyone disagree? Versace usually screams out for attention, and this bag doesn’t do any differently.

The Versace Velvet Show Bag truly is a show itself. The bag is described as,

“Glamorous enough for a goddess, Versace’s sumptuous velvet bag beams with luxury. Ripples of golden velvet shimmer over the pretty pouch shape, accented by chic croc-stamped leather and a diva-worthy supply of polished golden nails, buckles, chains, and accessories. With artful silk lining, a delightfully decadent bag.”

I’m thinking my writing skills weren’t about to say any of that, but maybe try to get close to it (hence I was not an English major). The first striking part of the bag is the velvet with croc-stamped leather and the polished gold metal hardware. Right from the get-go both of those assets are screaming out at you. The rest of the bag begins to blur together with croc-stamping and gold: there is a frame structure (which I actually love the shape in this case) that has two golden claps with golden Versace cubes, a golden Medusa medallion which hangs from the bag front (as if the rest of the bag didn’t receive enough attention on it’s own), visibly chunky gold metal chain straps which lead up to the croc-stamped shoulder strap, and why not finish it off with the buckle details having croc-stamped leather straps each and every side of the bag. This bag isn’t playing around. On top of all the outside madness, the inside is lined in patterned silk and has a small pocket and a golden (of course it’s golden) Versace plaque. The bag looks a bit bigger than it may actually be, measuring up at 11″ x 6″ x 5.5″. If today hasn’t been showy enough for you already, this bag is sure to put you over the top, which is the same thing the price tag does. $2,016 via eLuxury.

Coach Python Bags

Peer pressure works wonders. Coach, usually known for their classy up-scale, yet affordable bags, is now delving into python. It had to start sometime. With every other designer using exotic materials, Coach has decided it is their turn too. Brand new is the Coach Python Small Pocket Satchel. Personally, I don’t really dig the color chosen. For their first exotic skin bag, shocking blue might be a little too risky- especially for the not so typical price tag we all associate with Coach. The inside features of the satchel include an inside zip pocket, a whatever-you-want-to-store inside pocket, and imported silk lining. The outside features show everyone else the exotic python with calfskin trim, two front and side pockets, and outside zip pocket, and brass turnlock closures. The dimensions are 10 5/8 (L) x 5 1/2 (H) x 4 5/8 (W). For about 6 times over what you are used to spending at Coach, the Coach Python Small Pocket Satchel is available for $1900 via Coach.

Along with the satchel comes the Coach Python Demi. This bag I can stomach a little more because it’s not as big in size so you can get away with some bold colors a bit easier. This demi has all 3 S’s. Small, Simple, and Sexy. The inside of the bag has a cell phone or multi-function pocket and is also lined with imported silk. The outside features the python with calfskin trim and a zip-top closure. The chain is quite fun- it’s an 18 1/2Гў€Вќ removable python and brass chain strap with a dogleash clip. The overall dimensions of the bag are 9 1/2 (L) x 4 5/8 (H) x 1 (W). This very small but exotic bag can be purchased for $900 through Coach.
