Brahmin Rosemary

On with Viewer’s Choice Tuesday, we have a designer never spoken about here. Let’s all give a round of applause to Brahmin Leather Works! Hopefully we can all find something that meets our fancy on their site. Swetha, yet one more loyal reader and poster on the forum, would love for us to feature the Brahmin Rosemary Bag in Toasted Almond. Swetha said: “I was at Bloomingdales the other day and saw the bags there and positively loved the bags. The leather is absolutely gorgeous and it feels amazing. I really like the ROSEMARY design (esp. the tricolor) and the toasted almond.” The color of this bag is truly gorgeous, although the name is frightening. I suppose I am frightened because I am allergic to almonds, but the name is still clever. Actually, to me this bag strongly resembles the Alexander McQueen Novak , in a much more affordable form. This bag is actually a backpack with adjustable shoulder straps. There are also some pockets for anything you may need to store in there; cell phone pocket and two organizer pockets. The overall dimensions are 11 x 11.25 x 4.25. While I’m not looking for a backpack, possibly some of you ladies are! This bag is on sale via Brahmin for $290.

Michael Kors “Astor” Large Satchel

I’m not sure if I could have said this better myself… Sadaf said, “In these times it is humbling to see celebrities like Heidi Klum carrying a under $300 bag from Michael by Michael Kors (okay, barely under $300 but at least you don’t need to be on a waiting list to get the bag). She had the color “leather luggage” and was using it as a combo diaper bag. Cute bag don’t you think?” I do love when bags are being carried because they are beautiful and versatile and not just because a celeb is carrying them. I think many of you will agree with this. The Michael Kors “Astor” Large Satchel is a beautiful bag fit for a star (with the not too shabby price tag). If you like to carry lots of your necessities (or not-so-necessities), this large satchel can help you tote your needs around town. Made of soft leather with beautifully seamed detail and nickel stud detail, Michael Kors brought in beauty with functionality. Some other features include a top two-way zip closure, and inside pockets; including inside zip, pouch and cell phone pockets. The dimensions are 14″ W x 10″ H x 5″ D, which makes this bag a pretty nice size. If any of you love this handbag just like Sadaf, head over to Macy*s and nab it for $298.

Fendi Mini Leather Bag

After a complete and total computer glitch (yup, I’ve been that lucky with technology lately), I’m back at it. Unfortunately this is what happens when Vlad leaves, I tend to over-estimate my computer ability and it comes to kick me in the behind- hence I am behind on Viewer’s Choice Monday! Since I’m a day late, this week will all move behind a day. Whew. So to kick of the start of Viewer’s Choice Tuesday our loyal reader, Zoesmom, has submitted this atrocity from Fendi. I was quite glad to see that she also despises this bag. I don’t know what Fendi was thinking. After having a huge hit in the Spy Bag, they have proceeded to fall down hill with their “designs”. The Fendi Mini Leather Bag makes me want to mini gag. What is this thing?!?! Actually, to put it in the words of Zoesmom: “I found that horror at Saks and is probably one of the ugliest bags I have ever seen. Where exactly do you wear a white rabbit fur and faux pearl trim purse??? And for $1290 shouldn’t the pearls be real?” I couldn’t agree with you more! This leather bag has a double top handle and rabbit fur detailing around the top. Ehmm- ok?? Then we find the not-so real faux pearl accents. Why would you do that for a Fendi bag that is going for over a grand? Bad idea Fendi, bad bad idea. Other thingies this bag has is nickel hardware, a detachable chain shoulder strap, a frame top shape, and satin lining. Measuring in at 6¾”H X 6½”L X 3½”W, this bag is not worth it’s $1290 ticket price (via Saks).

This bag closely resembles its sister, the Fendi Bag It Mini, which is just as fugly. These are the two ugly ducklings
