Long necks are sexy. Hence the sexiest neck animal is the giraffe. Because of their uniqueness, giraffes always intrigued me. Prada knows how cool giraffes look, so Prada has jumped on the animal train and designed the Prada Giraffe Pony Hair Medium Tote. The giraffe brown and tan pattern is made on pony hair with the infamous Prada insignia on the front of the tote. Chic enough for everyday use, the tote has a zip top closure and is accented with gold-toned hardware including the d-rings at the sides and the buckles that are with the double handle straps. The bag also shows off calfskin and logo jacquard lining with zip pockets on the inside. So far I think animal print day has gone well. But there is always the bad. Let me introduce you to the ugly duckling cousin of the Zebra. The Salvatore Ferragamo Fur Trim Haircalf Bag is way too much for my liking. This bag is designed from Zebra-print haircalf along with rabbit fur patch pockets. I bet the rabbit fur will automatically turn some of you away from the bag, that is, if you haven’t already decided this bag is a no go thanks to its first impression. The bag has a zip top closure and double shoulder straps. On the inside you won’t find more fur, thank god, but you will find zipper and open pockets along with cotton canvas lining in soft pink. I even think the ’soft’ pink would still be too much to handle with the busy outside. This bag sizes up at 8″H X 16 ВЅ”L X 6″W and costs an over priced $1650 via Saks. I guess each animal has its own odd man out.

While the Starlight (oh yea, the magical flying horse from Rainbow Bright) was my favorite horse, zebra’s were a close second. I suppose the zebra would actually be my first favorite seeing that Starlight is completely fictional and no matter how much I begged my dad I could never get my own Starlight. So moving on to my other favorite ‘horse’, the zebra, we have the Tod’s Girelli East/West Zebra-Print Pony Bag. I’ve always been a lover of Tod’s and the Girelli model is an alluring shape in my opinion (I have featured it before). Again, let’s all let out a sigh of relief, because this bag is not made of zebra hair, but calf hair (I am actually being quite sarcastic because I sure know that a bad can not be made from zebra/leopard/etc for obvious reasons). Immediately, the shape of this bag draws me in along with the innovative closing technique. To open and close this bag there are polished silver metal magnetic knob closures on each side. There are rolled leather shoulder straps with a 7″ drop or you could opt to use the longer shoulder strap (included!) with a 17.5″ drop. Options are always nice. Open up to find suede lining along with 2 patch pockets and one zip pocket. The dimensions of this black and white striped Tods bag are 16.5″ x 8.5″ x 6.25″. Buy this close cousin of Starlight through eLuxury for $1950.
