Stella McCartney Large Traveler

Many associate Stella McCartney with being the creative director of the house of Chloe in Paris back in 1997 or have visited one of her flagship stores around the world or know her as the vegetarian who refuses to use leathers or furs in her products. No matter how you know Stella, from a young age she has been a blooming fashion designer. The Stella McCartney Large Traveler is animal friendly being made with 60% PVC, 20% polyester, 15% cotton; 5% polyurethane fabric. Antiqued golden hardware combines perfectly with denim blue fabric. Casual chic adds shoulder straps with rings, buckled sides, and a zip top closure with logo-embossed pull tabs. Stella McCartney has truly paved her way through the fashion world, but this bag is too pricey for what you are given in my opinion. Available via Bergdorf Goodman for $995.

Not so “phat” in my opinion.

Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2007 Preview

It appears like metallic is going to be the new black next Spring/Summer season, yet again. Marc Jacobs presents a couple of crazy shiny fashion and accessories, I guess we all better get out the sunnies, otherwise all the glitz and shine will have us blinded.

Ashley Olsen Rocks the Romaneck Clutch

A few weeks ago, Ashley Olsen showed up at the Teen Choice awards with a clutch that made her outfit come together perfectly. This clutch turned out to be the B. Romanek Crocodile Rockstar Clutch shown on the purse blog earlier this week. While the cognac shown on Barney’s website seems a bit dull and bland, the turquoise that Ashley Olsen rocked out is perfectly chic and hip. I cringe at admitting that I want to take style tips from Ashley Olsen on this one

Sarah Michelle Gellar shops Target

After my summer in NYC I realized one of the flagships of my shopping life was missing: Target. Target is a place for everything, ranging from toothbrushes to DVDs to toilet paper to TV’s. The hustle bustle island of Manhattan does not have a Target. Hard to believe right? Last Holiday season Target did however make a presence to the Manhattanites on a boat located at Chelsea Piers. This traveling boat was a hit indeed. Yet the Minneapolis based corporation is known by many and used by even more. This week NYC is flooded with designers and celebs for Fashion Week like Sarah Michelle Gellar. Gellar opted to carry a chic and stylish Target bag rather than a high end designer bag- so as not to make any of the designers argue over whose bag she would wear… right

Karen Walker at New York Fashion Week

The only place I’d rather be right now is back in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week. Many of our favorite designers have hopped on planes from around the world (nix their lipstick of course) and made their way to NYC to show off their goods. While I love looking at the clothes, my focus here is the handbags. A newcomer to New York Fashion week but not to the world of fashion is Karen Walker who hails from New Zealand. Her designs are sleek and her appearance garnered more than 500 guests, including editors from American Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Nylon, Interview and the New York Times. Her spring/summer 2007 line is deemed the “Victory Garden” collection - “inspired by the British land girls of World War II - featured floral prints, puff sleeves and baggy pants, reminiscent of the 40s, as well as neon nylon parkas.” The handbags for spring/summer feature long straps, can be worn across the body, and have a slouchy shape. On a whole, these bags are a total hit in my book- casual meets street chic. Stay tuned for more designs out of NYC.

Louis Vuitton Mini Monogram Lin

Pictures of new Louis Vuitton handbags have been released to the public. The Louis Vuitton Mini Monogram Lin line sports a delicate masculine touch; although made of silky linen, it appears to be pretty durable, too. I haven’t had a chance to see it myself in person yet, but so I hear from our forum members who have been lucky enough to do a little pre-release touch’n feel. The official release date for the new line is September 15th. The pictured Speedy 30 in Mini Lin will go for $675, which is just a little more than the MC Speedy. Additional pictures of the new Mini Lin line are posted in the linked forum thread.

We actually saw a Louis silk scarf in similar colors yesterday when we visited the Bal Harbour LV store to go pick up the Purse Forum’s 1 Year Anniversary Giveaway items… if you would like to score some exquisite Louis Vuitton freebies, make sure you visit our blog on September 13th and look out for the official contest announcement.

Cole Haan Small Drawstring G Quilt Collection Handbag

A reoccurring color for fall is olive green. While I detest the taste of olives, the color can be striking on accessories and clothing. The Cole Haan Small Drawstring G Quilt Collection Handbag uses impeccably cut out flowers and leaves along with artisan floral quilting to make a bag that is casually cute. This handbag has suede trim that matches perfectly with the olive green nappa leather. Another great combo is the faille burgundy lining on the inside with the 3 inside pockets. For fall, this bag will look great with all of the warmer toned outfits we all wear. Measuring 8″ H x 17″ W x 3″ D, buy it through Cole Haan for $350.

Prada Napa Chevron Antic Handbag

The Prada fall 2006 line has two aspects that are a given. First, these bags are hot hot hot. And second, the bags are pricey- most ranging above $2,000. So many of these bags have made it on to my want list. Adding a textured leather, the Prada Napa Chevron Antic Handbag is made with brown quilted napa leather and golden hardware. The quilted pattern on this bag gives a very interesting outer appearance. While this picture makes the bag look plastic to me, I’ve seen it in person and it flows perfectly. The woven top handles have rings along with a detachable ID tag and zip top closure. Measurements are 9 4/5″H x 14 1/2″W x 6 1/2″D. Buy it via Bergdorf Goodman for $2200.

B. Romanek Crocodile Rockstar Clutch

My college years were spent partying like a Rockstar. College is the only time I can think that people go out 5 nights a week and do not walk around like complete zombies. While I cannot do what I did in college these days, there is still a little party girl in me and I am not completely lame yet. So for the nights that I want to go shake my groove thang, picking a clutch is key. The B. Romanek Crocodile Rockstar Clutch shows a fun wrap around ‘croc tail’ that makes its way around this colorful crocodile bag. I can imagine bringing sexy back with this 10″x5 1/2″ x 2″ clutch which is available in turquoise, dark green, cognac, or red. Yep, totally hot. The price is a bit too hot for me to handle right now, but I’ll keep shaking my rump and dreaming of having a rockstar clutch like this one. Buy through Barneys for $2,195.00.
