Oovoo Bella Handbag

We have a new category called “Introducing…”. This category is where I can post all new designers that I have heard of and are trying to break into the world of handbags. I recently received an email from Oovoo who create handbags that have a unique blend of Asian and Western influences which makes them handcrafted works of art. The name of the company is so much fun and the bag of my choice is the Oovoo Bella Handbag which is ‘flirty, feminine and fun!’ This bag is a clamshell zipper bag with black leather pleats and handles. The hand-embroidered accents add the Asian and Western feel Oovoo focuses on and gives the bag something extra. Measurements are 14″W X 14″H X 2″D and this bag is available via Oovoo for $175.

Tumi Bernadette Slim Golf Bag

For the love of me I can not golf. And believe me I have tried. I come from a family of golfers. My dad would golf everyday if he could (I assume once he retires he will). My brothers both golf. My dad’s brothers golf. My dad’s dad golfs. I enjoy driving the cart and going to the clubhouse. Go figure. On a serious note, you all should know that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For this month, I will continue to show you all products that go toward Breast Cancer research, foundations, awareness, etc. My pick for today is the Tumi Bernadette Slim Golf Bag. If you can actually play golf, play for a purpose and for a cure. This pink athletic bag is made of waterproof nylon with leather trim and features 6-way dividers, numerous pockets and a removable rain hood. And like I mentioned, this golf bag supports a good cause; part of the proceeds from the sale of this bag goes to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. While I may not be a golf pro, I am sure many of you ladies out there are (and men that happen to see this, what better gift for your wife?

) Check out this stylin’ pink golf bag which will be available the month of October via Tumi for $450.

Louis Vuitton Handbags Spring 2007

Today is the day of LV here. We started off on a high note with the smash hit Louis Vuitton Aumoniere Satin Multicolore but we unfortunately must end on a low note with with Louis Vuitton Handbags Spring 2007. Something went horribly wrong when Marc Jacobs sent out the Louis Vuitton Spring 2007 line this past week in Paris. Actually the clothes themselves showed off beautiful layers along with matte colors. But the handbags just had so much going on it looked like an art project from a kindergartener. I hate to hate this much, but I just can’t seem to help it- these bags are just a major no for me. Marc did end the show with a sexy white shirt that read “LV-OE,” it is just too bad I did not “LV-OE” the handbags. TACKY!

Louis Vuitton unveils plan for museum in Paris

Just thought some of you might be interested in this news. I know I’d love to visit the museum when it is done (gives me an excuse to make it back to Paris)!!!

PARIS (Reuters) - France’s biggest fashion group presented plans on Monday for a futuristic museum built out of glass to promote the heritage of its brands, promising the new Paris landmark would be a celebration of creativity.

French tycoon Bernard Arnault, chairman of luxury goods group LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, said the 100 million euro ($127 million) museum would show the art that has influenced its designers from Christian Dior to Marc Jacobs.

The “Louis Vuitton Foundation for Creation” will be housed in a glass-clad building soaring over the trees in the Bois de Boulogne park on the city’s western edge that Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry said was intended to resemble a cloud.

Critics immediately drew parallels between Arnault’s project and the museum plans of his arch rival in business, Francois Pinault, owner of the luxury Gucci Group.

Pinault, who also owns Christie’s auction house, unveiled his modern art collection earlier this year in Venice after attempts to build a museum on an island in the river Seine in Paris were thwarted by bureaucracy.

“It won’t be a purely contemporary art foundation,” said Arnault, knocking down comparisons with Pinault’s collection.

“Comparisons with other initiatives are not pertinent.”

Gehry, who designed the titanium-clad Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, Spain, said the commission for the Louis Vuitton building was like a dream.

“As I experienced the world, Paris became my favorite city,” said Gehry, 77. “So when a man who leads in fashion, who collects art that I love, invited me to Paris to do a building it was a heavenly assignment.”

Gehry said when he saw the site he thought of the writings of Marcel Proust and “wanted to cry with happiness.”

Arnault said the cost of the building to LVMH, which spends billions each year on advertising, would be spread over five years. He hoped construction could start next year and end before 2009.

Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe said: “This is an enormous present for Paris, and for France’s image in the world.”

French Culture Minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres promised the foundation would get favorable tax treatment.

Louis Vuitton Onatah Leather Pochette

Today is the day of Louis Vuitton on tPB. Another limited edition over at Vuitton is the Onatah leather. Here are some stats on this line (courtesy of the lovely tPF members!!) The Louis Vuitton Onatah comes in two shapes and two colors of leather, aubergine- purple, moka- chocolate color and the shapes are pochette Onatah and Onatah. A major pro to this limited edition line is it does not need to be cared for much there’s no vachetta on it. My pick is the gorgeous Louis Vuitton Onatah Leather Pochette. While I usually do not do this, I have to let eLuxury speak about this bag (the description is killer and really lets you know all of the beauty in this line!)

Exceptionally supple calfskin leather dyed throughout and then drummed to softly pull up the grain; a thin transparent coating protects the leather and gives it a slight shine that will develop a patina over time. Minutely detailed perforation technique is used to draw the Monogram pattern; three different perforation diameters. Tinted cowhide leather trim. Brass hardware with golden patina finish. Adjustable canvas shoulder strap with links. Zip top closure with long leather pulls. Silky monogram-patterned viscose lining; one interior flat pocket decorated with a Louis Vuitton badge made of tinted cowhide leather.

What are your thoughts on this new and beautiful line? The Pochette is said to be bigger than regular LV pochettes, but if the leather is a supple as it seems and the color as beautiful as it looks- I’d go for it. Available via eLuxury for $1260.

Louis Vuitton Aumoniere Satin Multicolore

For a brief moment in time this bag popped up on eLuxury and after I cleaned the drool up from underneath my mouth, the bag was gone. Seriously are there that many people trying to make me frustrated and trying to buy bags that I want? Yep, I think so. But I will make a trip to my local LV and get this baby, because I in love. The Louis Vuitton Aumoniere Satin Multicolore is designed with silky satin multicolore pattern on the outside and is trimmed in Ayer (water snake). The inside is lined with taffeta and lamb leather. The hardware is golden brass and there are two Louis Vuitton engraved stud closures. There is an optional golden brass chain to use this bag as a shoulder bag, but I would wear this baby as a clutch all the way. I couldn’t be more in love with this clutch. I am having a mind block (possibly by choice) on the price. Keep checking eLuxury or your local LV Store for this beauty.

Valentino Cashmere Flap Bag

As the winter chill yipps its way into our bones, cashmere is one of the warm and soft materials I love to adorn my body with. Having a cashmere bag may not keep you warm, but it will fit perfectly into the cold season. The Valentino Cashmere Flap Bag is taupe cable-knit cashmere bag with jewel accents and golden hardware. The color scheme and materials (along with a wooden logo closure) match the cold fall and winter, but the combination of it all does not have me sold. A smaller picture of the bag looks cuddly, the bigger picture looks like an art project my mom worked on (sorry mom

) On the inside there is satin lining and an interior pocket. This bag measures 8″H x 11″W x 1″D and is available through Bergdorf Goodman for $1950.

Roberto Cavalli Satin Print Roll Clutch

Every lady needs a black dress and a classy clutch to carry with it. There is something about pairing your little black dress, heels, and a killer clutch for a special night; it just makes a woman feel so sexy. A perfect elegant and classy clutch for the nights you feel super sexy could be the Roberto Cavalli Satin Print Roll Clutch. This black-and-gold satin print roll clutch is encircled by a gold serpent. An optional thin gold shoulder strap accompanies the clutch. I know the price tag is far from lovely, but a girl can dream; and sometimes a girl can splurge if she is bringing sexy back. Buy it through Net-A-Porter for $1065.

D&G Dolce & Gabbana Multi Tonal Leather Weekend Bag

A while back I mentioned that unsymmetrical objects nearly drive me up the wall. I was recently at a work meeting and my co-worker set up our ‘props’ so to speak. The set up was not symmetrical on the table and I felt an awful twitch and sense of OCD come over my body. Nevertheless I fixed the ‘props’ and we won the client. Yes, it was all because of me

But for some reason this D&G Dolce & Gabbana Multi Tonal Leather Weekend Bag sports asymmetrical pockets on the front of the bag (a long zipped pocket on the front paired with a snapped ouch pocket) and I can handle it. I must be overcoming my OCD because I am handling the pockets quite well. The multi tonal grained leather and aged brass hardware makes this bag casual. I am not sure about the color- from my end online it looks fine- but in person these lighter brown and darker brown combo has the chance to resemble something we would never want out bag to look like. On the inside there is floral cotton lining. This bag measures 20″ x 14.5″ x 10″. I’m not really excited about this bag (or color combo) but I am excited that I am handling the pocket combo. Via eLuxury for $625.

Hermes Bags Spring 2007

Hermes signifies classic style and elegance. Yet on the Paris runway, I was thinking that JCrew was there rather than the iconic Hermes. The Hermes Spring 2007 collection hit the boardwalk-like-runway of Paris and delivered a less-than-stellar line up of beachy wear, and casual kickbacks, along with tracksuits. Yikes. What I paid attention to closely were the bags of course, and these bags were collapsible Kelly Bags that were strapped together to look more like a large clutch than a bag. Upond first glance, I like the bag looking this way. Then it occured to me that this bag is so impractical all tied up that it now officially has no use. Our Hermes enthusiasts can be the judges of these bags, a big Yay or over powering Nay?
