Cameron Diaz Name That Bag

Image via Socialite’s Life

After a dude breaks up with me, I begin the post-breakup binge eating. Chocolate, cookies, brownies, ice cream, carbs, and any other comfort food. Surely I look nothing like Cameron Diaz does post Justin Timberlake breakup. An oddly jovial Diaz has been snapped on her way into and out of a work out regime that gets her body looking like it does. Chizzled abs, toned arms, about 2% body fat in all the right places, Diaz is taking a stance to shove it in JT’s face. Too bad JT is getting on every single (and not so single) gal out there with equally great assets. For early Friday fun, can you name either of the bags Cameron Diaz is carrying? The yellow work out bag may be harder to ID, but how about the chic black messenger. Happy Friday all, Name that Bag!

Prada Tessuto Oro Chain Bag

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! The weather here was delightful and hopefully this week stays just as beautiful. As spring rears her beautiful head around the corner, spring and summer bags are trying to make their way into our arms. Some I am drooling over and some I am laughing at. Take the Prada Tessuto Oro Chain Bag for example. Here you will see a small bag that has an overly long strap to wear this tiny thing across your body and a stencil cut logo plate that is downright tawdry. If you are about 2 feet tall, wearing such a small bag (5″H X 7″L) across your body may look good, but those of us upwards of 2 feet will look silly in this bag. Take me for example, 5′10 sporting a tiny bag that is a fugly and overly tacky logo plate. This is the kind of fug bag that you use to draw attention to yourself, bad attention. If you are desperate, try it in either white, black, or orange (Halloween color theme?) through Saks for $395.

It’s a Hard Knock Life for Celebs

It truly is a hard knock life for an A-list celeb. Have the perfect derriere and nab yourself the perfect new season handbag. This makes life a tad easy for the likes of Jessica Biel, who of course has the perfect derriere and a stunning Silver Prada Gauffre. Seems like Prada and Miu Miu think that having a celeb seen with their bag will up sales. Nah, we all only care for our own sense of style and never read trashy magazines and never ever want to nab a celeb’s style. Just when will Prada and Miu Miu realize that I am an A-lister (and Vlad wants a man bag while they are at it!)

PRADA’S LADIES: It is commonplace for fashion houses to e-mail red-carpet photos of celebrities, but Prada and Miu Miu have taken things a step further - they send out paparazzi shots of starlets like Kiera Knightley and Jessica Biel carrying their bags. Last month, Prada sent e-mail blasts featuring the actresses carrying its directional metallic handbags while strolling down a London street and arriving at Los Angeles Airport, respectively. In describing Biel’s silver Gauffre bag, the release stated, “This is one of the most important bags from the Prada spring/summer 2007 collection and it retails for $2,835.” One of Biel’s stylists, Estee Stanley, said she was unaware Prada sent out paparazzi photos, and that Biel chose the bag without her help. But of her client’s impeccable airport ensemble, she added, “She’s the hottest girl ever.” But it appears the “It” girl strategy is working: Miu Miu hosted a slew of lovelies at its Paris show Sunday, including Claire Danes, Milla Jovovich, Charlotte Casiraghi, Tatiana Santo Domingo, Ludivine Sagnier, Scout Delarue and Mamie Gummer.

Prada Napa Fringe Hobo

Drop everything and anything that matters and makes sense in your life!!! Seriously, get yourself to Bergdorf Goodman and order the Prada Napa Fringe Hobo in ivory before it goes out of stock! Ok, my sarcasm level is an all time high right now. I have been like a see-saw with this bag; I hated it, it looked good on Victoria Beckham but I still wouldn’t wear it, then I hate it again. It is really just fugly. And I have come to the conclusion that just because Victoria Beckham and her ridiculous Barbie-dollesqe body can pull something off, does not make it a good bag. So if you do like this bag, then more power to you and it is readily in stock in both ivory and black. And if you don’t like this bag, then join me in mocking it (especially the ivory version, the fringe is SO limp and droopy). Through Bergdorf Goodman for $2195.

Marc Jacobs Quilted Leather Tote

We reported earlier that Marc Jacobs has entered rehab for which we wish him the best. What better way to send him all kinds of love and support than continuing to buy his bags? And hey, worst case scenario, this helps you justify a purchase. A spin off the Stam, the Marc Jacobs Quilted Leather Tote showcases brown quilted leather with chunky gold hardware and chain link handles. Two front zip pockets add a bit of flare. This bag is a Marc hit, seeing as he rode the nice Stam wave and re-introduced the quilted leather along with a sophisticated coloring pair of brown leather and gold hardware. Support Team Marc through NAP for $1350.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Mini Lin Porte Monnaie Rond

Owning designer bags is not a cheap. There must not be many women that do not carry a handbag, but I am sure not all of these women carry designer handbags. Start off with more affordable pieces and build your way up if you are trying to break into the scene, or if you are already in it, just keep on keeping on! I have a mini love for the Louis Vuitton Mini Lin line. A chic circular design, the Louis Vuitton Monogram Mini Lin Porte Monnaie Rond garners cunning attention with creamy dune canvas, grained calf leather trimming, and a golden brass zip closure. Not a huge round, but the 2.75″ diameter provides enough space to store some mini goodies. Through eLuxury for $195.

As always buy online or check out your local LV boutique (shout out to LV Bal Harbour!)

Louis Vuitton Monogram Rivets Accessory Pouch

Louis Vuitton is constantly releasing new lines and bags which rivet some people’s likes and not others. Personally, the Monogram Rivets line appeals to me in a smaller bag, and BOOM, there is one on eLuxury now! The Louis Vuitton Monogram Rivets Accessory Pouch sports the monogram canvas pattern with a “Louis Vuitton Inventeur” brass plaque and brass studs all over. Add a little bang to an already well loved line and you get a hit. An outside zip pocket tops it all off along with a removable leather strap. Wear it as a mini bag or carry it as a clutch. Love this one and love the size of 8.3″x 5.1″x 1.2″. Move quick if you want this bag online, eLuxury for $675.

If you are around South Florida, call up or visit the great folks at Louis Vuitton Bal Harbour to inquire further about this line!

Hermes Ostrich Hedgehog and Crocodile Tortoise Coinbags

Picture via appledaily.com.hk

Imagine walking into Hermes New York thinking you could walk away with a little coinbag. You walk into the store feeling completely out of place. ‘My shoes are merely designer brand not premium designer, my shirt is from Banana Republic not off the runway, my bag is not a Hermes’, you think to yourself. Peering into the glass counter you encounter the perfect accessory to walk away with, a beaver coin purse. Must be about $300 you think to yourself, which of course is expensive, but hey, it is Hermes. You ask the SA with conviction about the price but in your mind know you can afford it. Right? Wrong! ‘$900 she states’. You sink back into your Banana Republic top and realize you will leave with a Twilly. You think you can walk into Hermes and spend a small amount of money, think again. Your best bet at a ‘cheap’ item is a Hermes Scarf Twilly, costing you around $125.

While the Hermes Ostrich Hedgehog and Crocodile Tortoise Coinbags are the most adorable coinbags ever, the price is even more un-affordable in my world right now. Thanks to billbill for the pictures and to wongnumber for the price estimations. The estimation for the snail is around $852, though possibly upwards of $2163 seeing that it is croc. The adorable ostrich hedgehog will be similarly priced since it is also exotic. After about $600, I can not justify these, but if you can, do it- they are so amazingly cute!

Hermes Fall 2007

Hermes Fall 2007 exploded on the runway of Paris with a sense of wearable luxury that is not to be messed with. Jean Paul Gaultier put together an luxe and exotic clothing line, filled with crocodile, chiffon, velvet, all exemplifying exquisite attention to detail. When it came to the bags, JPG introduced the Kelly as a soft hand Muff. The Kelly Muff’s showed up in exotic crocodile and were infused with fluffy warmth on the inside. Similar to his foldable Kelly Flat from the Spring line, JPG also sent out foldable suede Kellys and croc clutches. But the Hermes Kelly Muff ruled the show as far as handbags are concerned; is it easy to wear or even feasible to buy? The key accessory revolved around the hat, in fluffy cashmere to structured crocodile and leather, the importance of a hat in the fall is key. Overall, the show showed impeccable attention to detail and gave off a feeling of extravagance one would look for when venturing to the house of Hermes, so much so that Gaultier recognized his show was a hit and trotted on stage with an over-sized Croc Kelly for the grand finale.
